By subscribing to BLACKOUT ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. BLACKOUT is operated by BLACKOUT Inc. ("we", "us", "our").
TL;DR: BLACKOUT provides threat intelligence on marketing technology vendors. You receive reports and alerts — we handle all observation and analysis.
The Service
BLACKOUT is a GTM (Go-To-Market) threat intelligence platform. We provide:
- →Vendor Intelligence Database (VIDB) — profiles on 250+ martech/adtech vendors
- →Threat classifications and risk assessments for marketing technology
- →Behavioral indicators and IOCs (Indicators of Compromise)
- →Revenue risk scoring and Four Horsemen analysis
- →BTI (BLACKOUT Threat Intelligence) advisories
BLACKOUT conducts all observation and analysis. Subscribers receive intelligence products — reports, alerts, feeds, and database access based on their subscription tier.
Subscription Tiers
INTEL (Pro)
Full access to the Vendor Intelligence Database, IOC feeds, behavioral indicators, portfolio analysis, and export capabilities.
EVIDENCE (Forensic)
Everything in INTEL plus Claims vs Reality analysis, BTI-X threat codes, legal evidence packs, API access, and monthly PDF reports.
Continuous Monitoring
Subscribers may request continuous monitoring of their own web properties. This service is subject to:
- •Verification of domain ownership or authorized control
- •Monitoring limited to properties you own or operate
- •Results delivered via the BLACKOUT platform — no direct scanner access
- •Fair use limits based on subscription tier
Note: BLACKOUT does not provide self-service scanning capabilities. All observation is conducted by BLACKOUT systems. This is by design — we provide intelligence, not surveillance tools.
Acceptable Use
You agree to:
- ✓Use intelligence products for legitimate business purposes only
- ✓Not redistribute or resell BLACKOUT data without authorization
- ✓Not use intelligence to facilitate unlawful surveillance or harassment
- ✓Maintain confidentiality of any non-public intelligence provided
- ✓Comply with applicable laws when acting on intelligence

Intelligence Limitations
While we strive for accuracy, threat landscapes evolve rapidly. Vendor behaviors change, detection methods have inherent limitations, and our classifications reflect analysis at a point in time. Intelligence should be one input into your decision-making, not the sole basis.
Service Availability
The service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uptime, response times, or uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows and service disruptions may occur.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BLACKOUT and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service or reliance on our intelligence products.
This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or other intangibles, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding any claim.
Billing & Cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. You may cancel at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no prorated refunds are provided for partial periods.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice. Existing subscriptions will honor their current pricing until renewal.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated via the service or email with at least 14 days notice.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable.
Upon termination, your right to access the service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification).
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
